The origin of the DAVEHOPPER

One of the exciting elements of Aglet was our Aglet Creators. We provided our players with blank “Tech Packs” and allowed them to get creative, designing all manor of weird and wonderful show designs.

In February 2023 I developed a severe foot infection. It developed over a few weeks and worsened during a trip to Los Angeles with the Aglet team. When I returned from LA I was hospitalised for several days for treatment. This meant that I was unable to conduct my regular weekly live show, The Dave Show, and so players became aware that I was unwell.

An image was shared of the velcro hospital “shoe” I was wearing, along with the stylish white spotted red hospital socks, and so one of our players and creators, “tomohawk” decided to create an Aglet Creators shoe from it.

It was subsequently chosen as an official in-game shoe.

During an epic battle with the enemies of creativity, The Dave let his guard down while protecting our players from bullies. The enemies of creativity were able to score a direct hit on The Dave’s right foot. In one final sweep, The Dave dispelled the enemies of creativity and limped back to Aglet HQ. Once safe inside, The GHOST got to work with Tomohawk’s design to create the Aglet Velcro ‘Davehopper.’

Imbued by The Dave’s magic, this rugged strap-on sneaker has a wide upper to comfortably hold The Dave’s injured foot while it heals. The one-of-a-kind pair of reinforced red socks are heated for The Dave’s comfort, and the special Aglet Healing Sole is home to millions of tiny nanobots that are reconstructing the insides of The Dave’s foot so that he will fight on for millennia to come.
